If you’re in the mood for REAL comfort food in Kentucky, you’ve got to stop by Mouse Trap. This local boutique deli has been holding it down since 1976, and somehow it still feels like one of Lexington’s best kept food secrets.
I stopped in for a cozy meal and ordered the beef stew and a loaded baked potato, and wow… pure comfort food. The kind that tastes homemade, hearty, and exactly what you want on a cold day.
But the real star?
Their pimento cheese.
I grabbed a pound to take home, and let me tell you… it was completely devoured within hours of filming. No exaggeration — this might be the best pimento cheese in all of Kentucky, hands down. Creamy, tangy, perfectly cheesy… the kind you keep going back to the fridge for “one more bite.”
Places like this are why supporting local restaurants matters. Nearly 50 years in business and still serving food this good? That’s legendary.
