Insect Damage On Oriental Rugs
This video shows the type and extent of damage that insects can do to your fine wool rugs.
Before storing a wool or silk rug make sure you:
1. Check it for an existing moth infestation
2. Have it professionally cleaned and treated for moth resistance
3. Wrap it in Tyvek or similar paper that is breathable

4. Store in a cool dry location
The rug in this video was lightly wrapped in paper along with 3 other rugs, all were attacked by moths.
None of the rugs were cleaned or wrapped properly prior to being put in storage.
