In this Shavuot-themed series, we will look at how oaths, vows and covenant are a central theme to the Feast of Shavuot.
In the first part, we look at how the underlying Hebrew behind the phrase "Feast of Weeks" can also be translated as "Feast of Oaths." That being the case, how do oaths, vows and covenant all relate to Shavuot? What oaths and vows make up the covenant Elohim has made with His people? Has Elohim made oaths and vows to His people? Have we made oaths and vows to Elohim as part of entering into covenant with Him, and what are the implications of this?
