19_VALUE of COLOR DOPPLER in FETAL CARDIAC EXAMINATION

Описание: In the next series of 5 presentations, we will switch to a different but very crucial modality in fetal cardiac sonography - color Doppler flow mapping. We will discuss the value of this modality, its settings and appearance, color Doppler of fetal cardiac views, and finally, the combination of color and power Doppler with FINE in examining the fetal heart. The latter is also known as color Doppler FINE, or commercially as "5D Heart Color".

This is PART 1, where we will review the value of color Doppler flow mapping in fetal cardiac sonography, and why this should be performed. This will be supported by many illustrative case examples.

FINE is a novel sonographic method to examine the fetal heart. This method automatically generates and displays nine standard fetal cardiac views simultaneously. It simplifies the fetal cardiac examination, shortens examination time, and reduces operator dependency. FINE has recently been shown to have high sensitivity (98%) and specificity (93%) for the detection of congenital heart disease.
