Nursing offers varied career choices, and that's reflected in the degree options offered at SDSU.

Students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) have three options: a standard choice for students who are seeking their first college degree in nursing, a one-year accelerated option for students who already have a non-nursing bachelor's degree, and an online option for nurses with an associate degree who wish to further their education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

Students who choose our graduate program gain valuable experience while they polish their leadership skills. The successful Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree recipient will go on to a fulfilling career as a nurse educator, nurse administrator, or clinical nurse leader.

Our Postgraduate Certificates prepare nurses for advanced practice in leadership, education, psychiatric mental health and clinical practice.

The options for nurses continue in our doctoral programs. Our Doctor of Nursing Practice program will prepare Advanced Practice Nurses to bring an innovative level of care and research skill to clinics that treat patients in rural and underserved communities.

Roles as researchers, faculty or administrators await students in our Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing program. This program is based in the belief that the study of nursing science can make significant contributions in health care.
