Filmed on this gloomy February morning. I had arranged to meet a friend who agreed to seeing this ECS with me before going to town. This was her first time seeing an ECS move at my local station, and she enjoyed seeing it and hanging out. If you want to go straight to the part with the move, skip to 2:10 (though you'll miss a trademark Horn Jump!) , otherwise before that was 67013 and 82230 hauling TfW set HD07 with a Cardiff Central - Manchester Piccadilly service running on time, though 2L once out of Abergavenny. I initially decided not to film it but decided last minute to film it hence the later start. Note my friend saying "safe travels" before I pan on the DVT, that made me smile. :)
Anyway, onto the main part of the video, featuring 2 beautiful diesel locomotives and a very short rake of pristine Mk1 and Mk2 coaches. BR Blue liveried 50050 leads this gorgeous set with BR Green 40013 (D213) on the rear with a nice 2tone for good measure. The set was running 9E, then held at Maindee before arriving at St Phillips Marsh 13E. Working was 5Z40 as stated in the title, going from Crewe H.S to St Phillips Marsh in readiness for Friday's private tour from Bristol Temple Meads to Paignton and back.
