Описание: During Operation Sindoor, the enemy attempted to strike India’s vital establishments using Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles (UCAVs) loaded with bombs, aiming to cause massive destruction and human casualties.

Standing firm between the enemy and the nation was BHM Pawan Kumar, Sena Medal of the Army Air Defence, alert like a hawk and fearless in spirit. With blood burning for the Tiranga and eyes locked on the sky, he engaged the hostile UCAV with his L-70 gun, destroying it much before it could reach its intended target with a perfectly aimed shot — neutralising the threat completely.

As missiles rained from across the border, he and his team refused to abandon their gun position, even when advised to take cover for their own safety. Duty came before self. Nation came before life. Under his leadership, over 40 enemy drones were successfully shot down, averting untold danger.

Later, recovered debris revealed that these UCAVs were supplied by Turkey, exposing the scale of the threat India faced.

This act of valour, courage and unwavering conviction earned appreciation from the Chief of Army Staff and senior commanders, and was widely covered by the media. He was conferred with Sena Medal for this act of valor and courage.

With just one year left before retirement, BHM Pawan Kumar still carries the same fire — expressing his wish to be part of any future action under Operation Sindoor 2.0.
