Somerset or Falls Road? - Appleton New York - 18 May 2021

Описание: I heard the horn of a train coming north up the Somerset line, and went out to a field off West Somerset Road to catch it. I was definitely surprised to see that it was pulling a bunch of cars from the Falls Road Railroad yard in Lockport NY. I guess the crew decided to bring the whole lot along to see the scenery while they picked up some scrap cars at the shuttered Somerset power plant. This may be the first time since the old Hojack days of the 1970s that a train of miscellaneous tanks and hoppers rolled through the farmland of Appleton NY.
