Salim Khan, is an Indian film actor, producer, and screenwriter. He Wrote many screenplays together with Javed Akhtar as team Salim-Javed. As a writer, he is known for Sholay (1975), Deewaar (1975), and Zanjeer (1973).
He is the father of three Bollywood actors, Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, and Arbaaz Khan, and film producer Alvira Khan Agnihotri.
Director K. Amarnath, who was impressed by his good looks offered him a supporting role in his forthcoming film Baraat. Baraat was duly made and released in 1960, but it did not do too well. Some of the movies in which he played a supporting role are Teesri Manzil (1966), Sarhaadi Lootera (1966), and Diwaana (1967). In the late 1960s, Salim Khan, who was struggling financially, decided to write scripts. One of his more notable film scripts was Do Bhai (1969).
