Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has labeled the recent US-led airstrikes in his nation as an act of aggression. Assad said this while meeting a group of Russian lawmakers in Damascus on Sunday. Russian diplomats said that Assad was in a "good mood" and is continuing his work in Damascus. The Syrian president also said that oil exploration in the country will be opened to Russian investors – something that won't be opened to Western nations. Meanwhile, Russia says the strikes by the US and its allies are illegitimate and will inevitably lead to chaos. This came after President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani.
