Cabo de Gata is the southernmost town in the park and the closest to the capital, in fact this neighborhood belongs to the municipality of Almería. With little more than a thousand inhabitants, this town had traditionally been dedicated to fishing, today it combines this activity with intensive agriculture in the greenhouses near the area.
