Webinar: Where do we stand with the implementation of the DSI MLM and the Cali Fund?

Описание: Decision 16/2 of the Convention on Biological Diversity operationalised the Multilateral Mechanism for the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits from the Use of Digital Sequence Information on Genetic Resources (DSI), including the Cali Fund and its Steering Committee, and mandated an Ad-Hoc Technical Expert Group to advise on how to distribute money from the Cali Fund. DSI is also being discussed and/or negotiated in other multilateral bodies like the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, the World Health Organisation Pandemic Agreement, and the Agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ Agreement).
Much preparatory work remains to be done on the mechanism on DSI and the Cali Fund in the intersessional process before the 17th meeting of CBD Conference of the Parties, scheduled for October 19-30, 2026, in Yerevan, Armenia. This webinar was organised by the DSI Capacity Development Partnership in collaboration with the CBD Secretariat and the interim Secretariat of the Cali Fund. The DSI Capacity Development Partnership is jointly funded by Norway and the EU to support the informal process advancing discussions related to DSI and the Cali Fund.
The webinar provided Parties, observers and stakeholders with an opportunity to take stock of what has been done so far, and what still needs to be done. The agenda included
