The day unfolds through a handful of simple activities. I spend time cleaning up around the bamboo forest, keeping the edges open and walkable. Together, we install an antique wooden bench in a carefully chosen spot overlooking the river, creating a quiet place to sit and watch light and water move through the landscape.

Much of the day is simply time in the garden with my wife. As I work nearby, she cooks sweet potatoes over outdoor briquettes, smoke drifting gently through the space. The pace is unhurried, the camera observing shared presence rather than events—two people inhabiting the same place, each doing their own small part of the day.

Altogether, the video captures an ordinary and deeply pleasant day in the satoyama countryside of central Japan: a retired couple living close to the land, working, resting, cooking outdoors, and letting time pass naturally beneath the distant presence of Mount Fuji.
