Organic Vs Chemical Fertilizers - What's The Difference?

Описание: You may have heard the phrase “feed the soil” before, and it’s more or less what this argument boils down to. Chemical fertilizers provide quick nutrients to your plants, but do nothing for the health and longevity of the soil, and certainly not for the soil food web. Organic fertilizers may not work as quickly, but by amending your soil every soil with rich organic matter and compost you will set yourself up for easier growing. In my first year of gardening I was constantly fertilizing my plants with a liquid salt-based fertilizer, and while things grew quick I could tell when I skipped a feeding and also dealt with more pests than I have since, because fast growth doesn’t always mean healthy growth. These days I barely fertilize at all, and my routine is generally to top dress my growing areas with compost (and maybe some biochar) at the top of the growing season, and then use compost tea if I’m in a good groove.
