(22 Apr 2019) The White House lawn is the scene of its biggest social event of the year: the annual Easter Egg Roll.
President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump are hosting Monday's festivities on the South Lawn for more than 30,000 adults and children who will stream through the gates all day.
The main event is the traditional rolling of hard-boiled eggs across the lawn, but the first lady has announced two new additions to the lineup of festivities: musical eggs and a game of hopscotch named for her "Be Best" children's initiative.
The White House Easter Egg Roll dates to 1878.
In remarks to reporters on the South Lawn, President Trump said that "nobody" disobeyed his orders, a reference to the Mueller report, which paints a deeply unflattering picture of his presidency.
Reporters asked about special counsel Robert Mueller's portrayal of a White House in which staffers often ignore the president's orders.
The report suggested that some of those refusals helped protect the president from himself.
But Trump insisted that: "Nobody disobeys my orders."
Trump was also asked whether he was worried about impeachment, a talking point among some liberal Democrats.
His reply? "Not even a little bit."
He also reacted to the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka, describing them as "terrible."
