Introducing a new addition to our ‘Grand’ series - the Grand:Hagane ‘鋼’.
Grand:Hagane urushi dial design is inspired by "Tamahagane" - the precious steel used in Japanese swords - the dark amber urushi dial of the Grand:Hagane shifts to unveil shades of gold, mustard green, and smokey brown, alluding to the colors taken on by the steel during the forging process.
Indices on the dial display for the first time display a complex character font called “Koji”, which was introduced from China in ancient times. Even now, due to its complexity, it is still used in Japan for important documents. Thinking of the wonderful lacquer and sword techniques left behind by our ancestors and the romance of these techniques, Hajime Asaoka-sensei has arranged and designed this large character index.
