The Gaudiya Sampradaya, also known as the Gaudiya Vaishnavism or the Brahma-Madhva-Gaudiya Sampradaya, is one of the four main Vaishnavite spiritual lineages in Hinduism. These four sampradayas trace their lineage back to four prominent theologians and philosophers who interpreted the Vedas and other sacred texts in unique ways.

The four main Vaishnava Sampradayas:

Sri Sampradaya: Also known as the Lakshmi Sampradaya, this lineage is founded by Ramanuja Acharya. It emphasizes the concept of Vishishtadvaita Vedanta, a philosophy that teaches qualified non-dualism. Ramanuja emphasized the relationship between the individual soul (jiva) and the Supreme Divine (Brahman) as one of eternal service and devotion.

Brahma Sampradaya: This lineage, also known as the Madhva Sampradaya, is established by Madhvacharya. It follows the philosophy of Dvaita Vedanta, which asserts a strict dualism between the individual souls and the Supreme Divine. Madhvacharya emphasized the worship of Lord Vishnu as the ultimate reality.

Rudra Sampradaya: Also known as the Vishnu Swami Sampradaya, this lineage is founded by Vishnuswami or Vishnu Swami. It focuses on the worship of Lord Krishna and places an emphasis on devotion and meditation.

Kumara Sampradaya: This lineage is associated with the teachings of Nimbarkacharya. It follows the philosophy of Dvaitadvaita Vedanta, which teaches a dualistic and non-dualistic understanding of reality. Nimbarkacharya emphasized the relationship between the individual souls and the Supreme Divine.

These four Vaishnava Sampradayas have their own distinct philosophies, practices, and interpretations of the scriptures, all centered around devotion to Lord Vishnu or his incarnations, primarily Lord Krishna.
