Liam Spender of the End Our Cladding Scandal campaign discusses The Sunday Times story that the U.S. firm Arconic were warned in 2015 that their ACM cladding was highly flammable and only safe for buildings under 12 m, yet they still proceeded to supply it for Grenfell Tower’s 67 m height. The revelations, part of over 100 unsealed documents linked to a Netflix documentary, deepened survivors’ allegations that Arconic willfully chose profit over safety, and have renewed calls for criminal accountability under an ongoing Metropolitan Police investigation.
