Описание: Las Vegas, 1976. The International Hotel was packed with two thousand people waiting for Elvis Presley to take the stage. When the curtain rose, something was different. Elvis wasn't wearing his usual jeweled jumpsuit. He was dressed simply, almost somberly, in black. He walked to the microphone without his usual swagger, sat down at the piano—something he rarely did anymore—and spoke into the hushed silence: "I'm gonna sing you something tonight that I almost can't get through. It's the saddest song I've ever heard in my life." His voice cracked on the last word. The audience exchanged nervous glances. Then Elvis placed his trembling hands on the keys, took a breath that seemed to come from somewhere deep and broken inside him, and began to sing. Before he reached the second verse, tears were streaming down his face—and he never stopped singing.
