The Trains at Old Threshers, 2025 - Mount Pleasant, IA

Описание: At the 75th annual Midwest Old Threshers Reunion in Mount Pleasant, Iowa in 2025, we made the trip to town for another great time exploring the railroad attractions running during this five-day event. We’ll spend the majority of our time along the Midwest Central Railroad, Iowa’s only narrow-gauge line, that circles McMillan Park where Old Threshers is held each year. For the first time in several years, two steam locomotives were in operation during the Reunion, including 2-6-0 No. 6, and West Side Lumber Company Shay No. 9, fresh from boiler repairs that had sidelined the locomotive since 2022. The two engines can be seen pulling trains at various locations on the grounds, as well as diesel engine D-9 with a special freight train. We’ll also be making a visit to the Midwest Electric Railway, Old Threshers’ standard-gauge trolley line circling the campgrounds. Many cars were running this year, including old favorites such as interurban car 320, open-air car 1718, plus special work flatcar 1100, and the railway’s latest acquisition, Milan streetcar 1811. We’ll take a ride around the loop to the Log Village and see the cars pass many spots along the way. In the middle of the railroad action, this program takes you to other popular spots at the Old Threshers Reunion as well, such as the Steam Powerhouse, Carousel, steam threshing area, and much more.
