Are there still improvements to be made, especially for cyclists? The city’s cycle route has been upgraded up to the Molenstreet, and a section through the Clingse Woods remains accessible. But a proper bike connection is needed to the Belgian border 1,5 km ( info pos 32.31 and pos 36.06 Belgium border ) and the F411 cycle highway directly to the Sint-Niklaas train station 11 km !
There is also a need for improvements to the cyclist crossing on the Gentsevaart N290 near the border in Kapellebrug (the renovation work is currently underway) ( info pos 48.12 )

Affordable housing continues to be a challenge throughout the Netherlands. People with low or average incomes should also have the opportunity to buy a home
