Osdorp Posse was a Dutch-language hip-hop group from Amsterdam Nieuw-West. They were the first to use the term nederhop and are generally recognized in the Netherlands as the forefathers of Dutch-language hip-hop. The Dutch hip-hop group consisted of Def P (Pascal Griffioen), backup rappers DJ IJsblok (Marco Moolhuizen) and King (Arthur Bezuijen), the beat creator/producer Seda (Robin Bezuijen) and the DJ, DJ Daan (Daan Snouck Hurgronje). Def P and Ice Block are cousins, King and Seda are brothers. Osdorp Posse was founded in 1989 and was the first Dutch-language rap group. In 1990, the VPRO television program Onrust broadcast a video clip of the song "Killer" and an interview with the group. In 1992 the debut album Osdorp style was released on the Dutch record label Djax of Saskia Slegers. The album had unexpected success and therefore the EP Roffer dan ever followed in the same year. On Dutch radio, Osdorp Posse was accused of 'playing ghettootje', and called a group that should not be taken seriously, because they rapped in Dutch. In 1993 a new album was released: Vlijmscherp. On this album, Osdorp Posse gave his opinion about the media, which got a lot of criticism on this album. Because of songs like "Ghetto'tje spelen" in which a presenter was called a cheese-headed, Osdorp Posse was no longer played on the radio at all. In fact, both the public and commercial radio stations no longer gave any airtime to the Osdorp Posse. However, this did not mean the end of Osdorp Posse. In 1995 Afslag Osdorp was published, in which the typical sharp lyrics and socially critical subjects such as prostitution, real love, religion and abuse were put in rhyme in Amsterdam (dialect). Afslag Osdorp is considered by many to be their best album. In any case, it was one of their most successful albums, and also one of the best-selling nederhop albums of all time. Afslag Osdorp was the first Dutch-language rap album to enter the Album Top 100, for a total of 14 weeks with even a listing in the top 20. A unique, with the peak position in the charts that would only be equaled by Brainpower 7 years later. In 1996 a collaboration was entered into with the metal band Nembrionic Hammerdeath, which resulted in the album Brilliant, hard and crafty, on which the music genres hip-hop and metal were combined. The reactions to this album were very mixed. In 1997 the album Geendagsvlieg was released on which they collaborated with Henny Vrienten of Doe Maar and metal band Blind Justice. That same year, the success was sealed with two shows at Pinkpop, one of which was on the main stage, which eventually became the biggest Dutch-language rap show of the 90s. In addition, the company's own record label RAMP Records was founded that year. The last album of the Osdorp Posse at Djax was released in 1998
