The girl with the nine wigs, her fresh and candid account of the illness, was a best-seller in Holland and got soon translated into 16 languages worldwide and was the inspiration for an international movie (to be released in 2012). A sequel, inspired on Herman Hesse's Siddhartha, followed. It's called 'A blue butterfly bids farewell' and talks about the journey after her illness. Sophie will take us along in her incredible and brave journey and inspires us to have strength and belief.

What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
