A short film adaptation of William Shakespeare's Sonnet 60 for the New York Shakespeare Exchange International Sonnet Project. Performed by Mike Elles.
A war veteran reflects on traumatic memories of sacrifice, loss, conflict & subsequent inner conflict finally coming to a close as time inevitably catches up with him.
Inspired by Dan Collins’ book In Foreign Fields, a series of accounts from men & women of the Armed Forces in Iraq & Afghanistan, Major Justin Featherstone MC of The Princess Of Wales Regiment; “Every medal casts its shadow”.
Visuals partially inspired by the trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk (2017).
