The sacred grounds of Pisharikavu Temple, Koyilandy resonated with the divine rhythm of the rarest form of melam – the Double Panthi Pancharimelam, during the Valiyavilakku day of Kaliyattam festival. Held at 1 PM, the performance witnessed an awe-inspiring participation of around 150 seasoned artists, marking one of the most grand and majestic melams in recent memory.
The first panthi was led by the legendary Engapuzha Babu, whose commanding pramanam and intricate control guided the artists through the progression of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th kalam, weaving a rhythmic tapestry that captivated every devotee and melam enthusiast present.
The second panthi was masterfully led by Sukhapuram Dileep, whose energetic and dynamic leadership brought an added vibrancy and depth to the performance, creating a majestic musical dialogue between the two panthis.
This double panthi melam, a truly rare spectacle in the realm of Pancharimelam, was not just a performance but a divine offering – an unforgettable musical experience carved in the memory of all who witnessed it.
