Celebrate a sneak peek of their upcoming release of War Gospel, set to debut in late 2019, which is best summed up as a dystopian guerrilla opera. War Gospel is a visual song-cycle that speaks to our times, both reflecting the current political climate and transcending the divisive us vs. them mentality that debilitates progress. With shades of early Alejandro Jodorowsky, War Gospel could easily be described as Walter Sickert’s Holy Mountain.

Singer Mali is a singer, songwriter, and composer based in Boston, MA. For the last decade plus, she has been the primary songwriter, lead vocalist, and frontwoman for the avant chamber pop band Jaggery, who has garnered national and international praise for their “exquisite, lush . . . audacious aesthetic”(Stereogum). Mali trained in the expressive arts modality Voice Movement Therapy, and her uncanny vocal range exhibits this therapeutically expressive approach to sound-making, moving from “new-age songbird to woman scorned to woodland fairy to blood-thirsty werewolf to sultry lounge singer”(Boston Herald). Mali has composed for experimental theater, modern dance, and has featured as the lead vocalist for works composed specifically for her voice (2016’s song cycle Having It Out With Melancholy, by Michael J. Veloso, 2015’s aria You Will Have The Moon, by Mary Bichner).
Mint Green makes music that feels like the first signs of spring—teeming with life, but still vulnerable and fresh. It's hard to talk about Mint Green without mentioning Paramore's Hayley Williams. As with her peers Soccer Mommy and Julien Baker, Williams' lyrical and musical influence on the next generation of songwriters cannot be overstated. Summery indie rock vibes permeate the pop-punk framework in which Mint Green operates. By packaging themes of late adolescence in a genre targeted towards young teenagers, Mint Green are more effective than most at capturing the tensions and frustrations inherent in early adulthood. As sunshine and warm weather slowly arrive in Boston, there's no better time to listen to the local quartet.
