Описание: ALEXANDRA PARKRUN REVIEW Event #136 - Fastest Parkrun in Manchester?

Alexandra Parkrun! A flat and windy parkrun around Alexandra Park in Manchester. The course is run entirely on tarmac paths! Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain! Join me as I provide an in-depth review of my Alexandra Parkrun experience.

Alexandra Parkrun consists of a short opening section, a big clockwise lap of the park, a smaller anti clockwise loop of the football pitch, and finally another clockwise loop of the park finishing at the south east of the pavilion.
The first section (approx 600m) starts from the cafe and goes clockwise round the cricket pitch and behind the cafe to the roundabout near the Demesne road entrance to the park. Participants should then go straight on and do a full loop of the park (approx 1.9km) back to the roundabout. When getting to the roundabout the second time, participants should turn right and follow the paths anti clockwise round the football pitch (approx 900m). On approaching the roundabout for the third time participants should turn right to complete another loop of the park - the route is the same as the first full lap, except finishing earlier at the path to the south east of the cafe, making this section approx 1.6k. Marshals and signs will be on the course to direct participants to go the right way. At two points there will be cones across the middle of the path - participants must ensure not to cross the cones so as to not go the wrong way.

Dogs, buggies / prams are allowed at this parkrun. There are toilets at the pavilion, right by the start / finish area. The route is run on tarmac paths, therefore, road shoes are reccomended. In terms of how busy the parkrun is, it is a busy parkrun, so if you start too far back you may find it difficult to overtake. There are on average 393 runners/joggers/walkers a week. Due to course being flat and all on hardstanding paths, it is a great parkrun if you're trying to get a pb!
