Oxygen Concentrator Instructions
Power: please make sure that the unit is plugged in
To power on the unit: Push the black rocker switch on the top left of the machine
Oxygen Liter Flow: The concentrator has a variable flow rate, this is controlled by
a dial * in the upper middle section of the machine. *Please adjust the dial carefully so as not to drop the “ball” above the highest mark (5) or the lowest mark. If the unit starts to buzz, adjust the flow rate up or down.
Bubble Humidifier: Attach the bottle using the supplied hose. Screw the threaded end of the hose to the top of the humidifier bottle and then connect the push fitting onto the aluminum nipple on the top left of the machine. The Humidifier bottle should be filled with distilled water. Tap water may be used for short term rentals, avoid bottled spring water such as Evian or Oasis, as they contain minerals that may create deposits in the tube and restrict the oxygen flow. There are two lines on the humidifier, labeled maximum and minimum. Do not over fill the maximum line (approx. 2/3 full) and add water when water levels reach the minimum line (approx. 1/3 full). Unscrew the bottle counter clockwise to refill. If there is too much moisture being delivered, you can remove the bubble humidifier and connect the cannula directly to the machine.
Nasal Cannula: The nasal cannula (marked 1600-Q on the packaging) is the most comfortable way to use oxygen. Hold the nasal cannula with both hands out and the “prongs” in the middle. Place the “prongs” in the nostrils and pull tubing back over the ears. Do not put over the head. Adjust the Concentrator flow to the level of flow that is most comfortable for you.
Do Not(‘s):
Do not unplug the concentrator when it is running, always turn it off first. Do not cover the Air-intake filter (black foam on top or sides) with clothing or towels. Restricting the air flow could damage the concentrator, please do not cover it with anything, such as blankets, towels or jackets.
Do not use concentrator near open flames, fire places, stoves. DO NOT SMOKE WHILE USING THE OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR.
Trouble Shooting:
Be mindful that some properties have outlets that are controlled by a wall switch. If the unit is plugged in, but does not function (may produce a buzzing sound), please move the unit across the room and test using a different wall plug.
If the unit is functioning, but you do not seem to be getting air flow, check the Bubble Humidifier (the water bottle on front of concentrator). To troubleshoot, remove any tubing connected to the bubble humidifier, remove the bubble humidifier bottle from the concentrator, unscrew the lid from the container. Verify that the container is 1/2 to 2/3 full or water, but not over the upper opaque line. Carefully screw the lid back on the container making sure that the threads are aligned properly. Reattach the bubble humidifier to the concentrator making sure that the threads are properly aligned and replace tubing, cannula or mask. Test the concentrator to make sure that airflow is restored.
