The opening webinar of the online discussion forum on conservation and sustainable use of marine and coastal biodiversity was held on 8 June 2022 at 8 a.m. The opening webinar provided an introduction to the forum, its objective and focus of discussion. This online discussion forum was intended to provide an opportunity for discussions and sharing of views on the issues addressed in the annex to recommendation 24/9, “conservation and sustainable use of marine and coastal biodiversity”. This recommendation was adopted by the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) at its twenty-fourth meeting.
