Heat Testing The Airless Backhoe Tire | Behind The Scenes

Описание: In this Behind The Scenes presentation we offer a special look into just one of the tests that went into developing final version of the EWRS-BHS airless backhoe tire! All EWRS series airless tires are taken through rigorous trials that ensure their performance, reliability, and quality meets Evolution Wheel's product standards. This is one of those tests!

Over the course of a day, a core team of Evolution Wheel engineers and product specialists took a prototype of the airless backhoe tire out on the road to see how they react to extended hours of use in hot weather with a total distance of over 55 miles travelled! Our route combined bumpy city streets, and more consistent highway driving. Rough city roading demonstrated the compression quality resulting in less vibration leading to a more comfortable operating experience. Traveling on the highway allowed our prototype airless backhoe tires to experience the maximum possible speed the backhoe could deliver. Both surfaces contributed to higher movement of the rubber.

We stopped and tracked the heat buildup in four locations on the tire with a laser heat gun. The first location we gathered heat readings from was on the face of the tread, followed by a sample taken from the base of the tire. Third, we recorded the surface temperature of the side wall of the tire and finally, we took heat readings from the core holes. We repeated this test on all four tires throughout the day. Putting our prototype airless backhoe tires through this real world exercise revealed it's overall progress along with a few minor details that we tweaked to bring it to completion so we can deliver the EWRS-BHS airless backhoe tire.
