When traveling as a vegan- finding food can be an extreme sport! Maybe because in some cultures they are familiar with the concept of not eating animal products. There are different interpretations of what a non meat eater is. I’ve had people tell me chicken and fish don’t count🤣 I’ve had people tell me, the meat was removed, or it’s “just a little beef mixed in”. Add in that I’m not a junk food vegan , and people don’t know what to do with me🤣🤣
So balancing- embracing the culture, while not taking things personal , and being unapologetic about your diet- is something to master! Here’s my experience in Saudi
