High-speed electromechanical circuit breakers are essential components of electrical circuits. Their purpose is to instantaneously break the high current overloads, in cases where the thermal-based mechanism would be too slow. Electromechanical tripping relies on an electromagnet that separates the conductors once the electromagnetic force overcomes the retaining force of a mechanical spring.
