You know those days where everything should go right... but somehow doesn’t? That was this day.

With the sun shining and gear packed, I headed out to RSPB Fairburn Ings and RSPB St Aidan’s full of optimism. But Mother Nature had other plans. Gusty winds, uncooperative wildlife, and a serious lack of photo opportunities quickly turned this promising outing into a full-on test of patience.

Birds stayed hidden, the wind shook every long lens shot, and even the most reliable spots were quiet. If you're a wildlife photographer, you'll know the feeling: perfect weather on paper, but nature just isn’t feeling photogenic.

This is a behind-the-scenes look at one of those days—frustrating, funny in hindsight, and all part of the adventure.
