God Called Me Back to School | Starting Over After Illness

In today’s video, I’m getting ready to head to campus and reflecting on what this season of my life looks like. I’m currently juggling a master’s program, two supplementary undergraduate science courses, and a full-time job—all after a bone marrow transplant and eight surgeries that followed.

Some days, fear creeps in. I wonder if I’m behind, if I waited too long, or if I can really do everything well enough. Returning to school ten years after my undergraduate degree, already settled into my career, hasn’t always made sense on paper. But I know God called me here, and I’m choosing to trust Him—even when I don’t fully understand the timing or the process.

This season has taught me that slow progress is still progress. Healing takes time. Faith requires surrender. And obedience isn’t measured by speed.

Philippians 3:13–14 has been anchoring me lately:
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus
