Chinese Manjha may look like a simple kite string, but in reality, it has become a deadly threat. Every year during festivals like Makar Sankranti, several people lose their lives due to throat injuries, accidents, and bird deaths caused by this sharp string. Taking serious note of repeated incidents, the Indore High Court has taken strict action. The court has directed that anyone found selling or using Chinese Manjha should be booked under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which relates to culpable homicide.
The court also ruled that if a minor is caught using Chinese Manjha, the parents or guardians will be held legally responsible. Authorities have been asked to submit detailed reports on preventive measures and enforcement.


एक पतला सा धागा… और किसी की ज़िंदगी खत्म। चाइनीज मांझा अब सिर्फ पतंग उड़ाने का सामान नहीं, बल्कि एक जानलेवा हथियार बन चुका है। हर साल मकर संक्रांति और त्योहारों के दौरान बाइक सवारों के गले कटने, बच्चों के घायल होने और बेज़ुबान पक्षियों की मौत की खबरें सामने आती हैं। लगातार हो रही मौतों को देखते हुए इंदौर हाई कोर्ट ने अब सख्त रुख अपनाया है। कोर्ट ने साफ कहा है कि चाइनीज मांझा बेचने या इस्तेमाल करने वालों पर भारतीय न्याय संहिता (BNS) की धारा 106(1) के तहत केस दर्ज किया जाए, जो गैर-इरादतन हत्या से जुड़ी है। इतना ही नहीं, अगर कोई नाबालिग चाइनीज मांझा उड़ाते हुए पकड़ा जाता है, तो उसके माता-पिता या अभिभावक भी जिम्मेदार माने जाएंगे। कोर्ट ने प्रशासन से ज़मीन पर ठोस कार्रवाई और तैयारी की रिपोर्ट भी मांगी है।
