If policemen indulge in inhuman behaviour, the government will have the same approach towards them as it adopts towards criminals, Pinarayi warned. “Cameras should be installed in lock-ups to modernise the police force and to teach decorum to police officials who do not observe decorum. Violation of human rights in any form should not be allowed. The rights of citizens should be protected. If the situation arises in which the policemen themselves infringe on the rights of citizens, the government will adopt the same approach towards them as it adopts towards criminals,” Pinarayi said.
