This video features over 50 minutes of railway footage that I have recorded of various trains on the South Island of New Zealand on two seperate trips.
Filmed in early 2024 and September 2025, all sorts of trains and locomotives operating under KiwiRail (Also Dunedin Railways) are seen in the various regions of the beautiful South Island. Such trains include the famous TranzAlpine from Christchurch to Greymouth, the Taieri Gorge Tour in Dunedin, the 6-loco coal trains between Otira and Arthur's Pass, among many others.
Most clips feature the locations, regions and basic train details in captions.
