Описание:
A normal lung appears pinkish-gray and functions smoothly with effortless breathing, while an infected lung shows signs of inflammation, like fluid buildup, which can lead to symptoms like coughing, chest pain, shortness of breath, fever, and may appear darker on imaging tests due to fluid accumulation, indicating damage to the lung tissue; a normal lung would not exhibit these symptoms.
Key differences:
Appearance:
Healthy lungs are pinkish-gray, while infected lungs may appear darker with areas of consolidation (fluid buildup) visible on imaging tests like X-rays or CT scans.
Breathing:
Normal lungs allow for easy, effortless breathing, whereas infected lungs can cause difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, wheezing, or chest tightness.
Symptoms:
A healthy person typically experiences no noticeable lung symptoms, while an infected lung may cause cough (with or without mucus), fever, chills, fatigue, chest pain, and sometimes even bloody sputum.
Causes:
Normal lungs function properly, while infected lungs are caused by pathogens like bacteria, viruses, or fungi that invade the lung tissue and trigger inflammation.
