In this video, English teacher, Katheryn, know to many as Kat, gives us a glimpse into her life as an EF teacher in Tangshan, China.
Passionate about her job, teaching English abroad to Kids & Teens, Kat is dedicated to the kids she teaches at EF. She's always having fun in the classroom, making learning enjoyable for her energetic students!
In addition to teaching English, Kat makes time for fitness, travel and delicious food, and of course, the amazing friends she's met from all over the world, who've become family. In this video she shares what life is really like as an English teacher in Tangshan, China, and helping to demystify the lesser-known Chinese city.
Tangshan is a city known for its historical significance and culture. Located close to the coast, it is a unique place with sea and land influences.
There are many beautiful parks in the city and larger scenic areas like the Great Wall are close by. Other sites like the Jingjue Temple, Thousand Buddha Mountains and South Lake Park are worth exploring.
Lifestyle amenities are similar to that of modern cities around the world. Cinemas, restaurants, spas, bowling alleys, football fields, badminton courts & gyms are all available. In addition, there are many bars and KTV parlors for people to relax and spend free time.
Tangshan has undergone a lot of development in the past ten years and therefore the housing is in modern comfortable apartments. The restaurant scene is varied with everything from traditional Chinese dining rooms to western fast food available.
