During Publication Integrity Week 2025, we held this session which brings together three different perspectives on the challenges and opportunities offered by artificial intelligence. The panellists discuss what they see as the greatest challenges, and how AI tools should be used alongside human judgement. They agree that there is potential for these tools to increase equitable access to publishing, but other ways in which they could decrease it, and emphasise the need for training and transparency in AI use in order for the benefits to be realised safely.
