Advances in our understanding of the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of lung cancer have led to a dramatic expansion in the multidisciplinary approaches to the management of thoracic malignancies in the past decade with a growing number of new and improved targeted agents and efficacious combination regimens. With the advancements in the prevention, screening, and treatment of the disease, several thought-provoking issues require elucidation for thoracic oncologists to facilitate the optimal management of their patients with lung and other thoracic cancers. To further the evaluation and interpretation of emerging data, Expert Perspectives with Dr. Corey J.
