Yes ... it's another "Stairway To Heaven" cover. Many of us here learned this song growing up on guitar and we still love to play it today.
There's no sense in trying to re-create Zep's amazing version of the song from "Volume 4" or from the "Song Remains The Same" or from any number of bootlegs or other live recordings. Instead, my original contribution to the mix of covers is an unplugged, acoustic version.
For those purists out there that prefer a note-for-note recreation, I'm sure there are many more-skilled vocalists and guitarists that can serve up the same tune done the same way as the real thing (well, nobody can do it as good). But that wasn't my intention here and I hope that you will accept my humble improvisation on the greatest song of all time.
I did hesitate for a long time before deciding to go ahead and record this. There is so much hype and legend around this song. In the end though, it's the love for music and for Zeppelin that won out. And I know I'm not alone, we ALL play Zeppelin and realize that "we"re not worthy".
Thank you Zep for being the best there is and for changing our lives forever.
