Woodpecker Nest Box from a Log

Описание: Hi friends! i'm still waiting on my fancy bronze order to turn up, so i make a woodpecker nest box instead of doing some casting :)
I've also just finished a commissioned portrait of a dog and i'll be uploading that soon (once it's been gifted to the dog's owner).
My nice neighbour sorted me out with two lovely big logs to make this woodpecker nest box (thanks Ashley!), I used my chainsaw to remove the center of the log and make a lid, then put a lead roof on it and put it in a tree so i can see it from the living room! (it's still about 100ft away - so they'll get lots of privacy).
Putting it up in the tree was pretty difficult on my own, as it weighs so much.
Also at the end you can see lots of woodpeckers I've filmed (one yesterday and some babies i filmed last year).
Here in Britain we have the 'Green woodpecker', 'Greater spotted woodpecker' and 'Lesser spotted woodpecker'. This nest box should suit any of those but i think the larger Green woodpecker will have to make the hole a lot bigger (not a problem i think!). I hope to be able to see a woodpecker family in the nest-box one day!
