There's nothing that stops nature, a tree will grow around anything. We are in Pioneer Square to remove some tree grates that have stuck to a tree. These tree grates have not been maintained over the years and you can see how the tree is growing around the metal. This project took some special tools including a plasma cutter to cut the thick metal pieces.
Our final point is that we agree tree grates look amazing, they are beautiful, but we must restate that they need to be maintained so they don't end up like these.
