Près de 7 ans après qu’Emmanuel Pahud ait créé son premier concerto pour flûte Faraway Colours, le compositeur et poète franco-libanais Bechara El-Khoury nous livre son 2e Concerto pour flûte & orchestre, opus 113 « Nordic Dreams » qui sera créé le 24 novembre 2022 à Copenhague par l’Orchestre Symphonique National du Danemark et la flûtiste Ulla Miilmann. Voici quelques mots du compositeur en attendant l’entretien vidéo qu’il nous a accordé à propos de son travail de symphoniste :

« Ce sont des rêves nordiques, mais du point de vue d'un compositeur qui a ses racines en Orient et qui a grandi en Europe... La grande flûtiste virtuose Ulla Millmann m'a beaucoup inspiré à travers notre correspondance et cette musique est une sorte de reflet de la personnalité de cette grande musicienne internationale !

Nos deux sensibilités sont très proches tel un miroir qui reflète une lumière qui part du cœur vers les autres êtres humains... Mes conversations écrites avec la chère Ulla m'ont beaucoup inspiré et ses conseils ont été très importants ! C'est un concerto qui est plein de poésie pour un monde meilleur plein d'amour et de paix universelle... »

EN : World premiere of the 2nd Concerto for flute and orchestra, opus 113 Nordic Dreams by Bechara El-Khoury

Almost 7 years after Emmanuel Pahud premiered his first flute concerto Faraway Colours, the Franco-Lebanese composer and poet Bechara El-Khoury now presents his Concerto no.2 for flute & orchestra, opus 113 "Nordic Dreams", which will be premiered on 24 November 2022 in Copenhagen by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and the flautist Ulla Miilmann. “These are Nordic dreams but from the perspective of a composer rooted in the Orient but who grew up in Europe... The great flute virtuoso Ulla Millmann inspired me greatly throughout our written correspondence and this composition is a reflection of the personality of this great international musician!

Our sensitivities are both very similar, like a mirror that reflects a light that comes from the heart towards other human beings... My written conversations with Ulla were a great inspiration and her advice was very important! This is a concerto that is full of poetry for a better world full of love and universal peace...”
