Presented in conjunction with the FotoFest Biennial 2020, "African Cosmologies: Photography, Time, and the Other," curated by Mark Sealy, this artist spotlight examines the work of artist Jean Depara, whose documentation of Kinshasa's nightlife and culture from 1951 to 1975 is foundational to the history of African photographic histories.
