Описание: In the mid 1980s my brother and I restored this Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah IX engine to running condition with the help of two magnetos and two cylinder barrels obtained from the Moorabbin air museum. This engine is now over 80 years old and resides in the South Australian Aviation Museum but is owned by us. For many years it ran regularly as part of special 'engine run' events at the museum, but has not been started for 4 or 5 years. I had not seen it run since 1986, so was keen to return with my brother, Peter, and record him starting it up again. Thanks to the South Australian Aviation Museum for their assistance with making this happen and of course, Peter, who had some sore muscles after lots of hand cranking! Inadequate spark from the trembler or 'sparkler' initially caused problems as well as likely fouling of the spark plugs by engine oil (we did not remove and clean the rear spark plugs). Still, it ended up running twice for around 20 minutes each time. Soundtrack: appropriately titled Believer by Silent Partner
