Idols aren’t always false gods — they’re anything that pulls us away from God’s purpose. When Jonah finally submitted, God realigned him with his calling and sent him back to Nineveh, where repentance led to mercy. Jonah’s struggle reminds us that accepting the call is one thing, but accepting God’s full will during the call is another. Our calling isn’t about our expectations — it’s about God’s purpose.
