Day 5 vs. Day 6 Embryo Transfer: Does It Really Matter? 🤔🍼
Both Day 5 and Day 6 embryos are called blastocysts, and visually, there's hardly any difference between them. However, a Day 6 embryo may have started hatching 🐣 spontaneously.
A common question patients ask: Is there a difference in success rates between Day 5 and Day 6 embryo transfers? 🤷♂️ The answer: If the embryos are chromosomally normal (PGT-tested), it does not matter whether they are from Day 5 or Day 6. ✅
Sometimes, we let embryos grow to Day 6 for non-invasive chromosomal studies 🧬.
