Basic Sponge Recipe
250g butter
250g caster sugar
4 eggs
Vanilla extract
250g self raising flour
4 tablespoons of milk
Cream the butter and the sugar together until light and fluffy. Add in 2 eggs at a time and mix until combined. Add the vanilla extract. Sift flour and cocoa powder and add to mix 1/4 at a time folding gently. Finally add the milk and combine. Bake at 160 degrees for 45 mins until a knife comes out clean.
Buttercream
500g icing sugar
250g butter
Vanilla Extract
4 tablespoons of cocoa powder
2 tablespoons of milk
mix ingredients until light and fluffy.
